Things To Consider When Buying A Family Car In Brisbane From Austral Honda

    Last updated 6 months ago

If your family is rapidly expanding, it might be time to trade in your two-door sports car for a more family friendly vehicle. As much as you would love to hold on to your speedster, two-door cars are definitely not appropriate when it comes to family holidays and everyday use. Before you visit your local Honda car dealership, you might want to consider these important factors:

    Safety

Safety is one of the most important factors when buying a family car, especially if you are expecting a new baby or already have newborns and toddlers in the car. Three point seatbelts are a must if children are going to be sitting in the centre rear seat; avoid cars fitted with two-point seatbelts as these are proven to be less protective in the event of an accident. Dual front airbags, side airbags and head rests are other preferable safety features for family cars.

    Comfort

Long weekend and holiday road trips are going to be anything but relaxing if everyone is squished in, so comfort should be a top priority. Family cars fitted with dual-zone climate control are particularly beneficial for long trips and individual temperature preferences. DVD, CD and other extra entertainment options are useful additions, particularly for parents looking for ways to keep the kids entertained.

    Accessibility

While large seven-seater family cars are preferable for expanding families, they can be a bit too heavy duty, so opt for cars that have seat flexibility and can be folded away easily to make room for extra storage. This feature will also come in handy for parents travelling with prams.

    Price

Whether you are shopping around for a new or used family car, the price is obviously going to be a concern; and not just the initial cost, but the cost of long term running expenses of the car. Avoid fuel guzzling vehicles that might be cheaper to start with, but will end up costing you a lot extra in fuel costs.

Improving Your Credit Rating For a Car Loan

    Last updated 6 months ago

When you find yourself at your local Honda dealer ready to make a purchase, the last thing you want to get in the way of you and your new car is your credit history.

Before you go looking for a new car, it might pay to look at ways to improve your credit rating. That way, you won’t be handing back the keys after the test drive.

Tips to improve your credit history:

    • Check your own credit record to make sure there are no anomalies and you haven’t been the victim of fraud.
    • Keep your slate clean by always paying off any loans or credit cards under the terms of the agreement.
    • Build up a good credit rating by actively using credit. Using credit doesn’t equate to unnecessary spending. It means using your credit widely but wisely.
    • Only make required purchases but do so using credit, and pay it back on time. This requires diligent management of your finances. Anyone looking to lend you money in the future will want to see evidence of this reliability.
    • Diversify your credit. Having a mix of loans such as home loans, car loans, personal loans and credit cards, all of which you manage successfully, shows you can handle a wide range of financial situations.
    • Demonstrate you can service a debt by keeping a record of any previous repayment plans you have successfully managed, that you can show future lenders.
    • If you have trouble managing your finances, access professional financial help to get back on track and learn how to stay on the right side of the credit equation.

It takes no more time to build a good credit rating and the difference could be the key to your brand new car. To test drive a range of great cars and find out more about finance options, contact Austral Honda on 07 3177 3060.

Amazing! A man managed to get up to 1 million miles (1.6 Million KM) on the odometer on his 1990 Accord!

Hondas are famously reliable cars, but an American man who took his 1990 Honda Accord to the 1 Million miles (1.6 Million KM) milestone has taken the concept of a reliable car to an all new level. Even more interesting is the fact that he was given a 2012 Honda Accord as a reward!

"A Honda spokeswoman tells The Portland Press Herald it's the first time the manufacturer has documented an Accord reaching one million miles.

LoCicero says he bought the car in 1996 with 74,000 miles (about 120,000 kilometres).

The former mechanic did much of his own work."

This is my first Honda --the service experience is far better than anything I have experienced in 40 years of driving cars. It is very impressive. In fact I have commented to a friend, the service expereince is good enough to ensure I purchase another Honda when this car lease finishes. We are moving to northern NSW shortly, and I will continue to... More
